WALKING in God’s Benefits

Have you ever received a letter in the mail, congratulating you on being accepted as their new employee? They had gone over your application and resume and were currently verifying the list of references  you had given. If your answer is NO, not yet, chances are that you will someday. I would like to give you a brief idea what that letter might say.

After receiving such a letter,  jumping up and down and telling my family the ‘good news’, I began to think about something very important to myself and family. “What kind of  benefit package comes with this position?” The position that was offered said that they were looking for; someone who would be loyal, an honest thinker, reverently respect the Chief and be willing to walk in the Spirit.

I mentioned in my last blog, where Deuteronomy 5:29 says, if we walk in the fear of our Father in Heaven,  have the audacity to obey His commands, it will be to our good and be well with us and our children.

Lets look next at “God’s Benefit” package, according to His Word.  Turn with me to The Book of Psalms and look at “The Benefits” of “Walking in the Fear of God“.

Psalm 34:7  “The Angel of the Lord encamps around those who fear Him [who revere and worship Him with awe] and each of them He delivers.”

The First Benefit listed in the package:  The Angel of the Lord will encamp around you and will deliver us

Proverbs 10:27  “The reverent and worshipful fear of the Lord prolongs one’s days, but the years of the wicked will be cut short.”

The Benefit listed in the package is:  Days will be added to your life.

Proverbs 14:27  “Reverent and worshipful fear of the Lord is a fountain of life, that one may avoid the snares of death.”

The Benefit in the package is:  A fountain of life.

Proverbs 19:23  “The reverent, worshipful fear of the Lord leads to life, and he who has it rests satisfied; he cannot be visited with [actual] evil.”

The Benefits given in the package are:  Satisfaction in life and evil can’t visit you.

Proverbs 22:4  “The reward of humility and the reverent and worshipful fear of the Lord is riches and honor and life.”

The Benefits (three of them) listed in the package are:  Riches, honor, and life.

Isaiah 33:6  “And there shall be stability in your times, an abundance of salvation, wisdom, and knowledge; the reverent fear and worship of the Lord is your treasure and His.”

The Benefits listed in the package are:  Wisdom and knowledge in you’re doing.

WOW!  What a list of Benefits that God’s gives us in His word. Can you imagine receiving a Benefit Package such as this when you become newly employed?  Most employers tell you that you have to be employed at least for 90-days! When you accept Jesus as your Lord and Saviour, and follow the “do’s” of the title, Christian Believer”, you are in the position to receive this “Benefit Package”, including your compensation [Proverbs 22:4] immediately!

What are your duties or requirements given to you in your employment package at “The Christian Good News Observer”?

In my next Detective Word search, I will uncover the duties ofPursuing God’s Best“.
