“Releasing” the Hand of God

Now that I have uncovered what “The Hand of God” is and what His hand can do, how can we release His power and might of His hand? Let’s see how the Prophet Samuel released the hand of God.

I Samuel 7:13,  “So the Philistines were subdued and came no more into Israelite territory.  And the hand of the Lord was against the Philistines all the days of Samuel.”

Samuel released the hand of God in verse 12, when he said,  “Heretofore the Lord has helped us.”  Samuel knew his authority that God had given him and he confidently said, “…the Lord has” not “…the Lord is going to” help us.  Do you see a difference here?

How do we “limit” God?

Psalm 78:41-42 answers the question in saying,  “And time and again they turned back and tempted God, provoking and incensing the Holy One of Israel.  They remembered not [seriously the miracles of the working of] His hand, nor the day when He delivered them from the enemy.”

There is those two words that I mentioned in the last BLOG;  “spiritual amnesia”.  We keep forgetting “the hand of God“.  If this occurs more than you want, you might try writing answers down in a prayer journal. You might even put a title on the front like, “Precious Moments“.  It’s not the cure to your amnesia, it is a remembrance antidote.

God gives us AUTHORITY to move His hand.

Isaiah 45:11  “Thus says the Lord, the Holy One of Israel, and its Maker:  Would you question Me about things to come concerning My children, and concerning the work of My hands [would you] command Me?”

What does “command” mean?  It means to “assign, commission, appoint” The Hand of God. Why don’t we “command” or “assign”, “commission” or “appoint” the hand of God?”

We become to ‘scared’ to appoint God to do it!  We won’t put things into the hand of God because it leaves us powerless; we don’t want to be naked.  A doctor’s diagnosis of a disease is given. Test results have confirmed his diagnosis and he tell us next the procedure in dealing with the problem. Our fears enter our thinking and we will not confess turning the disease into the hand of God because,  “if I don’t get better after telling people I have turn it over to God’s hand…I will feel naked, exposed, a fake.”  If FEAR doesn’t come from the Lord (I Timothy 1:7), then it must come from the enemy, Satan. We have been given “authority” by the blood of Jesus.

Psalm 8:6 says,  “[God made man] to have dominion [authority] over the works of Your hands; You have put ALL THINGS under His feet.”

I capitalized “ALL THINGS” to make a point.  “ALL THINGS” means exactly what the words say; cancer, heart disease, broken marriages and broken dreams.  ALL THINGS we have been given authority over.

Genesis 1:26,  “…and let them have complete authority over…”

Acts 4:29-30  “While You stretch out Your hand…

“…to cure”

“to perform signs and wonders”

“Through the authority and by the power of the name of Your holy child and Servant Jesus.”

Are you “holding on to your problems” tightly instead of “releasing” them?

If you are NOT using the AUTHORITY that God has given to you, then you are indisobedience“. Turn with me to 1 Peter 5:

Verses 6-7 say,  “Therefore humble yourselves [demote, lower yourselves in your own estimation] under the mighty hand of God, that in due time He may exalt you.  Casting the whole of your care [ALL of your anxieties, ALL your worries, ALL your concerns, once and for all] on Him, for He cares for you affectionately and cares about you watchfully.”

Step by step approach in handing ALL your cares to “The Hand of God”.

Step #1.  Humble yourself.  You are not designed to carry ALL your problems alone.

Step #2. Know that God loves you and watches out over you. He wants you to “fling” or “cast” the “whole of your care” upon Him. He is your “Abba Father; your Daddy.  He has authorized you to “let go”!

The effects that can come in “Releasing the Hand of God”.

Turn back to the Book of Proverbs in the Old Testament.  “The 7-Fold Blessing is on its way!”

Proverbs 6:30-31:  “Men do not despise a thief if he steals to satisfy himself when he is hungry;

“But if he is found out, he must restore seven times [what he stole]; he must give the whole substance of his house [if necessary–to meet his fine].”

Your situation might look desperate to you right now or when circumstances arrive; and they will.  BUT, exercising your authority in JESUS’ Name and casting ALL of your fears upon Him, you will release God’s hand in the matter. Your “7-fold blessing is on its way.”

Trusting the hand of God

“If we don’t do our part, God can’t do His”.

Back in I Samuel, we saw how Samuel released God’s hand by using his given authority [I Samuel 7:13].  Go with me to Psalm 55:22, where I Peter 5:7 says the same.

“Cast your burden on the Lord [releasing the weight of it] and He will sustain you; He will NEVER allow the [consistently] righteous to be moved (made to slip, fall, or fail).”

Wow! Since God doesn’t or can’t lie to us, we have no reason not to trust what He says in verse 22:  “He will never allow the righteous to  … slip, fall, or fail.”  Don’t violate what God is telling you to do!

How do you not “violate” God’s trust?

Philippians 4:6 answers,  “Do not fret or have any anxiety about anything…”  How do I not worry over ANYTHING?   “BUT in every circumstance and in everything, by prayer and petition (definite requests), with thanksgiving, continue to make your wants known to God.”

Don’t violate what God is telling you to do!  In every circumstance…NOT some circumstance.

I will continue my research into the “Hand of God” in “The Understanding of the Hand of God”.
